Leicester, New York, December 6, 1999 CPAC,
Inc. (Nasdaq NNM: CPAK) today announced a new partnership with Lagasse Bros., Inc., the
largest wholesaler of sanitary maintenance products in North America and a subsidiary of
United Stationers (Nasdaq NNM: USTR). CPACs Cleaning Technologies Group (CTG)
Franklin® branded products will be marketed to Lagasses 9,000
distributor customers in the janitorial, food service, industrial, paper and packaging,
healthcare/safety, office, and educational supply markets.
According to Robert C. Isaacs, Senior Vice President and
Chief Operating Officer of CPAC, "This non-exclusive partnership supports our
previously announced plans to drive operating efficiencies and top-line growth in the CTG
business. After a detailed analysis of its operations, CTG developed this sourcing
alternative in conjunction with Lagasse to more efficiently meet the needs of some of its
customers. CTG distributors will be able to obtain Franklin products from Lagasse with the
added benefits of consolidating orders with other purchases and reduced order minimums. In
addition, customers will be serviced from one of Lagasses twenty national
warehouses, to shorten lead times. Lagasse will increase brand exposure for Franklin
products and provide access to new distributors who we currently do not serve. Lagasse
will reach these customers through its 1.5 million printed catalogs and targeted marketing
programs, which will include various internet-based initiatives."
Tim Feeheley, President of Lagasse Bros., Inc. said,
"Partnering with CPAC provides Lagasse with a nationally recognized line of
commercial cleaning products that will allow us to expand the product categories we offer
our valued customers. They will have access to CTGs complete line of Franklin
branded products. Lagasse will feature floor and carpet care products in its catalog, and
other selected items through quarterly marketing programs. This is one more step in
ensuring that we continue to provide our customers with the highest quality and broadest
product offering possible."
