DOUGLAS CALVERT NAMED
PRESIDENT OF CLEANING TECHNOLOGIES GROUP
LEICESTER, NY, August 11, 2003 - CPAC, Inc. (Nasdaq: CPAK) today announced the appointment of Mr. Douglas R. Calvert as President of Cleaning Technologies Group, its commercial cleaning chemicals and hard goods business unit, effective August 11, 2003. Cleaning Technologies Group (CTG), part of CPAC's Fuller Brands segment, was formed in 1997 when The Fuller Brush Company's commercial cleaning division and the former IVAX Industries' janitorial chemicals business combined forces.
As President, Mr. Calvert assumes complete profit and loss responsibility for CTG, and will oversee all sales, marketing, product development, and customer service functions. He is charged with guiding the business into new areas of growth and opportunity as well as managing the current operations.
Mr. Calvert began his career in the institutional and industrial market in 1977 with S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc., holding increasingly responsible positions in sales and marketing for Johnson Professional North America and Worldwide. He moved to ZEP Manufacturing Company in 1994, first as Director and then Vice President of Business Development for this $500 million specialty chemical division of Acuity Brands, Inc. He has more recently held executive sales and marketing positions for BioShield Technologies, Inc., a firm engaged in the development, marketing, and sales of patented antimicrobial technology, and for Kimberly-Clark's Scientific and Industrial business. He has successfully led strategic business development initiatives, resulting in significant improvements in sales and net revenue.

Mr. Calvert holds a BA in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina, Charlotte. His office is located in Duluth, GA in the headquarters of the CPAC Imaging segment.
